I just wanted to briefly discuss something that I touched on in an earlier post. If any of you guitarists out there are looking to expand your repertoire of stringed instruments, the baritone ukulele is the perfect instrument for you to try. It is the largest of the ukulele family, so it is easier for a guitarist to adjust to then some of the other smaller models. As you may have assumed from its name, it also produces a lower tone than the other models of ukuleles so it may appeal more to the ears of current guitarists. However, most important is the fact that the baritone ukulele is tuned the same ad the top 4 strings of the guitar. This means there is really no theoretical adjustment when picking up the baritone ukulele. You can apply what you have already learned playing the guitar right to your new instrument. I found this particularly intriguing and exciting. As always, knowing how to play a new instrument can really improve and expand your song writing and musicianship, and in the case of a baritone ukulele you guitarists out there pretty much already know how to play this other instrument!
